We will have a free day to enjoy all there is in the "Adventure Capital" of the world. We could try bungee jumping,(if I could get over my issue with heights) a jet boat ride on the Shot Over River or maybe take a tour of the "Lord of the Rings" film sites. There is also golfing close by or shopping in the town centre. The day will end with a special treat as we travel by TSS Earnslaw Steamship to Walter Peak Station for a farming demonstration and Gourmet BBQ dinner in the Colonel's Homestead. It looks like a great way to end the day, learning more about the history and N.Z. ranch life, too, while enjoying a meal produced on the ranch. Yummy!

The-lord-of-the-rings-trilogy possibilities...
Another LOTR tour possibility...there are several!
I'm sure our guide in New Zealand will have great LOTR options for us to choose from.
And then there is the bungy jumping option.. The Kawarau Bridge is - home to the original 43-metre Bungy Jump. The world's first and most infamous of leaps is still going strong, with tens of thousands Bungying each year. You can choose from a number of options; topple over backwards, forwards, with another person, spin or somersault. Kawarau Bridge Bungy is also the only Bungy in Queenstown where you can choose to bob above the water, touch it, or be fully immersed. Oh boy! (You go first!)
And at the end of the day we will come aboard the TSS Earnslaw for a journey back in time! (From their webite:) "The TSS Earnslaw is an integral part of Queenstown’s pioneering history and to this day a Queenstown icon. She was commissioned by New Zealand Railways to service the communities around Lake Wakatipu. Launched in the same year as the Titanic, the TSS Earnslaw’s maiden voyage was on 18 October 1912.

Soon known as The Lady of the Lake, she provided an essential link between the isolated farming communities along the lake and the outside world. At 48 metres long, she was the biggest boat on the Lake and carried passengers, sheep, cattle, mail and supplies.
Nearly scrapped in 1968, she was rescued and purchased by Real Journeys and put to work once again carrying passengers around the Lake. Since then the TSS Earnslaw has been painstakingly restored to its original condition – everything you see is pretty much like it was a 100 years ago. Today, the TSS Earnslaw is the only coal fired steamship in operation in the southern hemisphere, making her one of the most unique experiences in the world.
The TSS Earnslaw has featured in several movies including a cameo in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as an Amazon River Boat. Parts of the trawler SS Venture in Peter Jackson’s King Kong were inspired by the TSS Earnslaw.
